Since this matter is apparently in the public domain or some crap, The great and glorious Seamus Zelazny Harper presents for your intrigue and interest and in the hope that we can get this crap outta the way now and not go back over it again, what's happening:
I'm talking to Rex and I'm talking to Armand, if I can find any indication at all that Rex had a part in this? Then he'll get punished. What I won't do, is make any kind of example of him, or throw a freakin' publicity party over it to establish that my warden balls hang the lowest, so don't expect one. If I can't find any indication that he was involved with this? Then I won't punish him on hearsay.
11-12? Let me be clear on this, you do not use this as a reason to contact my inmate. If he did it then you'll hear from us, if he didn't then you won't, and you've got no reason to make any further contact with him than that.
Now, if anyone would like to talk to me about anything related to this? You know, death threats, murder plots that my inmate may have been involved in, and let me say this last one clearly: issues with the way I've been doing my job?
This would be the time to bring them up.
I might not agree with you, and I probably won't change what I'm doing, but you'll get a straight answer, and I'd honestly prefer to assume that I'm working with freaking adults here, you know, the kind who can actually address their issues with someone instead of playing extended games of Chinese whispers.

Date: 2010-03-14 05:06 pm (UTC)The only think I would say is that it is possibly, and I don't know what went off, and won't pretend to, unwise to put yourself in a position where someone can even say you made death threats against them. Even if they weren't serious, even if they didn't even happen - I'd be more careful what position you put yourself in there, because it's not something to be taken lightly, and I'd be careful how things come across in that respect. I'm not saying I believe it one way or another, but the fact someone had the opportunity to make that kind of accusation is a worrying one.

Normally, I would have come to the other wardens to ask for support on what I was trying to achieve, but there are some pretty big privacy issues involved for Rex and I wasn't about to announce them to the entire warden populace. So I went with the next best preventative measure, and I'm really not sorry about that.
